NFL: Week 9 Studs
For the second week in a row Doug Martin is on the stud list. Week by week David Martin is getting better each week. His teammates love it as do his coaches, but more importantly so do fantasy football owners. Fantasy football aside, Martin had himself a game against the Oakland Raiders. The rookie ran for a franchise-record 251 rushing yards, scoring four touchdowns and becoming the first player in NFL history to rush for three touchdowns of 45 yards or more in the same game. If it wasn’t for this next guy, or a certain quarterback out in Washington, I think Doug Martin would run away with the Rookie of the Year award.
Indianapolis Colts are 5-3 and a big part of that is Andrew Luck who had himself a record-setting day against the Miami Dolphins. He threw for 433 yards and two touchdowns. Luck now has 2,404 yards the same as Peyton Manning the man he replaced. Also both the Colts and Broncos have the same record. Scary statistic right?
Taking a chance on Brandon Marshall seems to be a great decision made by the Chicago Bears. This past week in a blow-out of the Tennessee Titans Marshall caught nine passes for 122 yards with three touchdowns. Don’t look now, the Bears are red-hot, now winning six straight and leading the NFC North.
The Steelers running game has had so many changes with Rashard Mendenhall injured. They’ve had a mix of Redmond and Jonathan Dwyer, both who have played well. This week Redmond played great against the New York Giants. He ran for 147 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. While the rushing game is still ranked 21st in the league, Redmond and the Steelers have to feel great moving forward.
The Falcons are 9-0 and are the only team in the NFL undefeated. Enough said.
