NFL: Week 13 Duds
Michael Vick sat out again due to injury. However, much like Alex Smith in San Francisco, he will be the backup quarterback when he is healthy. Andy Reid announced that Nick Foles will be the starter for the remainder of the regular season. Vick is the 100 million dollar man who will be making money standing around instead of playing football. What a life.
Jake Locker was a highly sought after prospect last year who got drafted by the Tennessee Titans. Locker has battled injuries this year, but has struggled when healthy. Against the Texans Locker threw or 309, but had three interceptions and lost two turnovers. Five total turnovers is never a good thing. However, the 24-year-old from Washington still has a way to go to develop.
Arizona Cardinals/New York Jets
Talk about two horrible teams. Quarterbacks were horrible, one was benched and in one of the sloppiest games ever, the two teams scored a total of 13 points. And these are supposed to be two professional football teams. This is why I always think a team like Alabama could beat down a team like the Cardinals (eight straight losses). If one good think came out of this, it was a Jets win, which I don’t even know if Jet fans want. Oh well!
The last two weeks for the Lions have featured heart breaks. On Thanksgiving, they lost to the Houston Texans in overtime. This week against the Indianapolis Colts they lost on the final play of the game. This is a talented team and a playoff team from last year that is struggling. Even worse, they lost rookie standout wide receiver Ryan Broyles to injury. It is over for the Lions.
There are truly no words to explain how the Baltimore Ravens should feel losing to Charlie Batch. Granted Batch is still an NFL quarterback, but hasn’t won a game in two years. Ravens had a chance to seize a perfect opportunity and come up goose eggs. I still think they will win the division, but this divisional lost at home to your rival’s third string QB is never a good thing.
