NFL: Week 16 Studs
With 11 catches for 225 yards, Johnson broke Jerry Rice’s NFL single-season yards receiving mark of 1,848 Saturday night. He also became the only player with 100 yards receiving in eight straight games and the first with 10 receptions in four straight games. Also, Megatron makes everyone a believer that there is no more Madden Curse, with this record-setting season he has had.
Even though the Cowboys lost, Dez Bryant was stellar. He had a pair of 58-yard TD catches against New Orleans and finished with nine receptions for a career-high 224 yards.
Brees is no stranger to putting up huge numbers. Against the Cowboys he did exactly that. Brees was 37-of-53 for 446 yards (tying a season high) and three touchdowns. The Saints have no chance of making the playoffs, but they signed Sean Payton to a five-year contract. When he returns expect the Saints to return to their old form.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve been hard on Joe Flacco like many others. Against the Giants, Flacco had a huge game. In an easy win, Flacco threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing).
After the lost in Seattle everyone was in panic mode, except the Green Bay Packers. Yes, the defense has had some low-points, but as long as Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback of this franchise, never count them out. Rodgers threw for three scores and ran for another in a 55-7 rout, while throwing for 342 yards.
